# The kiosk screen

Answers the question: How do you put the state of the system on a screen of its own?

## What it is for

Kiosk mode puts the state of the system on a screen of its own: how many devices the fleet holds and how many are up, which people and AI agents are working in the system right now, and what is happening to the handsets. The screen is read-only.

## What is on it

The kiosk screen shows four figures across the top: devices in the fleet, devices up, people in the console, agents working. A person or an agent counts as working when a request of theirs arrived within the last minute. Signing out of the console removes a person from the count at once.

Below them the feed: alerts and actions, newest first. An alert is coloured by its state – red when new, amber once taken up, green when closed. A closed one holds for five minutes, then leaves the screen.

At the bottom, the date the license runs to and the number of devices it covers.

## Pairing a screen

The Kiosk section issues a pairing code at the press of a button. The code is eight digits, lives ten minutes and works once.

On the screen itself open the Wyrd server's address, path `/kiosk`, and type the code. From then on the screen holds a long-lived token and the console is not needed. Access is revoked with the button in the list.

## What each screen is given

Every screen is given a name, a language and a privacy mode. In «actor and action only» the server does not send device names to that screen, which is what a screen in a room people walk through wants.

Night dimming is switched on per screen, with the hours it applies.

## How long the journals are kept

The Kiosk section sets how long the journals of what people and agents did are kept. Thirty days by default; older entries are deleted daily.
