# What Wyrd is made of

Answers the question: What exactly is installed, and where is each part located?

The system has four parts.

## The server

The Wyrd server keeps the fleet data and delivers commands to the work profiles on the phones. The hosting options are on the ["SaaS and On-Premise"](https://docs.wyrd.link/en/server/hosting/) page. Over an anonymity network the Wyrd server fetches the phone application build, news of a new version and map areas that are not in its cache. It loads the Android vulnerability catalog from OSV directly, or over the anonymity network with the switch on the updates page. Devices, policies and command history are kept in a single database file, `/var/lib/wyrd/wyrd.db`.

## The console

The console is the web interface of the Wyrd server. It is built into the server's executable.

## The phone app

The Wyrd app is installed when the phone is enrolled; it creates the work profile and holds a standing connection to the Wyrd server. The app has no other address.

## The license

The license is a signed key. It sets the device limit.
