Installing the server

What Wyrd is made of

Answers the question What exactly is installed, and where is each part located?

The system has four parts.

The server

Keeps the fleet data and delivers commands to the work profiles on the phones. It runs on your Debian server. It reaches outward for the current build of the phone application and for map areas that are not in its cache – both over an anonymity network. Devices, policies and command history are kept in a single database file next to the program.

The dashboard

The web interface of that same server, opened in a browser. Nothing separate to install – the dashboard is built into the executable.

The phone app

Installed during flashing, it creates the work profile and holds a standing connection to its own server. It has no other address, so the phone exchanges data neither with us nor with anyone else.

The license

A signed key you paste into the dashboard. It raises the device limit. Without a license the server serves up to two phones.

We have no access to the server or to the phones.
